Favourite kick?
Hello folks,
Thought I'd start some discussions. I am wondering what peoples favourite kicks are for the following circumstances. Sparring, Self Defence and Fun to practice!
Personally mine are
Sparring - Hook kick to the head (followed immediately by a turning kick with the same leg)
Self defence - If kicking I would favour attacking the knee either with a front thrusting kick or a side kick.
For fun - I really enjoy training the reverse turning kick. I'm not great at it but when I get it right I feel like a proper martial artist! There is just something cool about this kick!

Re: Favourite kick?
My favourite kick for sparring is probably turning kick. Purely for it's simplicity. In sparring i find simplicity works best for me. I see people trying to use all sorts of complicated techniques that they just can't pull off well enough to utilise it in sparring and they wonder why they get hit.
For self defense i like to favour the side kick to the knee or front kick to the knee.
For fun? This is a difficult choice. I love the look of jumping reverse turning kicks when they're performed properly. Maybe a flying side kick here and there is pretty cool too!

Front kick fake (Mid section) off the back leg followed by a turning kick (High section) on the same leg. It's one fluid movement.

Got to be the side kick for sparing! You can get so much power with it, double it up and just generly corse chaos with it agginst you aponent >=)
For self deffence i would say any kick to the groin... There not going to get up after it

Favourite Kick
Trick question?
My fav kick at the moment is the side piercing kick. We work it alot in training and mine is improving steadily.
I have found it effective after an axe kick front or back leg. Excecute the axe Kick moving inward then pull back and throw out the side piercing kick with a skip.
Breaks through some defenses and causes shock. Ha.
